Torture Apologists are Not Americans

"I don't know what article of the Constitution would contravene," Justice Anthony Scalia said.

But the Eighth Amendment prohibits the federal government from imposing excessive bail, excessive fines, or cruel and unusual punishments "including torture."

Although I am not even a lawyer, I know that and am surprised that a Supreme Court Justice wouldn't.

Apologists for torture like Scalia and Dick Cheney believe that the subject is very complicated, when actually it's one of the few issues in American discourse-- maybe the only one-- that isn't.

Very simply, people who justify torture are not Americans.
