Traficant assured his benefactors that he was a "loyal fucker," and if any of his sheriff's deputies betrayed them "they'll fuckin' come up swimming in [the] Mahoning River."

Comments

We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.

General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.

Remember that making the world better begins with responsible action.

Youngstown... effed by Nixon and Reagon and the removal of steel jobs, 70,000 people in the smallest inner city, and terrible corrupt politicians. Ohio is a typical state: all the funding goes to the center, to the state's capital in Columbus, and cities tucked into corners like Youngstown are left to self-destruct. I say draw up a new Constitution; let the States do some governing if they aren't siphoning off their outlying cities, but Congress should represent regions, getting rid of landed aristocracy Senate, and Representatives like Traficant. Nothing can save Youngstown but jobs jobs jobs. Heck with Traficant's alleged mob ties; children die of street crime and abuse caused by desperately depressed parents.
