We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.

General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.

I think most know now that the Tea Party is an off spring of the Fascist American Liberty League, backed by the most wealthy to overthrow the Government like in 1934. Then it was to oust FDR,-- Implement the Hitlerian policies that the League approved of. Prescott Bush was one of the wealthy, and today's Tea Party is backed by Murdoch and the wealthy Libertarians,-K och brothers. Rand Paul as a Libertarian Fundamentalist, intends to take our mind set back 80 years or so, and the Palins, O'Donnell,Angel type won't have the women's rights as today. The GOP won't have the Bush Dynasty Prescott Bush expected, because the Libertarians expect to have the One People,- One Leader-One Empire- like was in the hitlerian policies.Wake up people before we are another Germany of 1930 after 2012.

The teapotters who do manage to get elected will abandon their ideals and their angry base (making them angrier) by making deals with the GOPers. Within two weeks they'll become politicians and ... ugh ... Washington insiders.

These people are white, well-to-do Republicans who are horrified that a black man is president. They are scared silly that they will soon be a minority in this country, and so they are desperately trying to steal this election. If they regain control we will lose all hope of having a progressive future, and this country will return to the dark ages.

I concede sister genierae that voting democrat in November is crucial. I bet you'd agree though that this is just a starting point and absolutely no substitute for vigorous action beyond this. No? And, dear soul, it's never an either or proposition, is it? I mean, even if the republicans become suddenly ascendant again, don't give up!

How long have conservative politicians called themselves "pro-life" while always being pro-death in every way, except for abortion? They are pro-war, pro-death penalty, pro-pollution, anti-environmen t, and so on. How could there be a bigger contradiction than that? Yet this has been going on for decades. The most extreme contradictions can happily survive for a long time, so I'm not at all confident this will ruin the Tea Party. The teabaggers all watch Faux News, or at best the news on the major networks. They will never even be aware of the contradictions. Just wait and see.

They seem to have lost all loyalty to their race in an attempt to infuse a multiracial culture with their God, Family, Culture bias. There is a great danger that TEA Party values will spill over onto the greater portion of American voters should they be convinced that America can recover its greatness by turning against the big government movement among liberals. This site outlines a plan to encourage black and hispanic voters to vote their conscience.

Reasonable people understand the necessity of compromise. However, to state that tea-baggers "are anti-politics. They believe that politics is essentially corrupt", accurately describes the opinion of myself and my liberal friends. Both parties have given their power and conscience to BIG MONEY, and that is why the republicans will win this cycle; why the anger and rage will grow, even as the T-baggers eventually disintegrate. T-Bag Party is the pre-cursor of the rise of a third and maybe a fourth party, beyond anger, but committed to restoring the right of the people to be self-governed. SAD but necessary, its time.

I agree with the first part of your arguments. But whether the Tea Party will eventually disintegrate or be captured by a fascist dictatorship remains to be seen.
