We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.
General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.
Remember that making the world better begins with responsible action.

Krauthammer and his group can not understand how this behavior goes over with the hard working little guys like me. He may be smart on paper but he does not yet get the smoldering anger born in a system that is far from "fair and balanced."
As long as Obama play ball and sticks to hot button issues they can discard the tea party to the garbage can.
Imagine that you have a team of Dobermans in use as guard dogs on your property. If not properly trained against the ploy, some home invaders can simply distract your dogs by throwing raw red meat over the fence. While the guard dogs are "piling" on, and fighting over the meat, the burglars can simply walk past your guard dogs and take their time robbing your home.
Gay marriage, Flag burning, all of these emotional "non-issues" are "red meat" issues, and have been used since time immemorial to great advantage.
They make it a cake walk for the burglars to steal whatever they really want while the populace is foaming and fighting over the "red meat".
The entire game is rigged, and the elections, etc are staged as very effective political theater. Nothing more.
Presently, OWS is the only organization on the Globe seeking to abandon the old carcass of a system and begin anew. That makes OWS our "last, best hope".
Nice thought -but remember that "Divide and conquer" movie clip of Scott Walker and Twit's "47% speech?
And that's just the stuff that was leaked; can you imagine what was posited behind tightly closed doors by Curdled Rove, Grumpy Norquist and all these reactionary think tanks in their quest for a one-party state?
Damn right they should be "neutered" (Krauthammer's psycho -inflammatory, hysteria inducing terminology), or shall we say "neutralized" to be more calm.
I'd be more inclined to encourage Obama to take a page out of THEIR "scorched earth" books and roll over them with all means at his disposal, including a coalition and collaboration encompassing other progressive parties as the Rethugs used the Tea Buggers.
But I fear he's too much of a born, right-of-center mitigator for that and I fear that he'll end up as a cypher fro the status-quo.
His hands must be numb with their slap-asides by now, Surely even he can see that he can't reach out to the unreachable and should steer his ship firmly.
Obama will never lose because the news media and entertainment media continue to support him.
Oh really? A study of the media showed double the negative stories on Obama as on Romney. 90% of the media is conservative owned and that accounts for the reason we no longer have much in the way of investigative journalism or unslanted news.
Obviously the poor woman had psychological problems that led her to take her own life .
A healthy person would be embarrassed but they wouldn't take their own life over something like this !
It is looking more and more like the Democrat's want these cuts to Social Security ,Medicare ,Medicaid and all social programs just as much as Republican's do !
I think its time we wised up and found ourselves some candidates in all races local and federal who aren't in either party ! If we don't change this red and blue system we will become less and less a part of how our government works for the people .
