Amira writes: "Tropical Storm Isaac could very well hit Tampa on Monday, the first day of the Republican National Convention, and sweep 50,000 conventiongoers right into the Gulf, where the waters will eventually carry them all to Mexico."

We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.

General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.

Finally, an amusing article that has lots of subtle rumble about it. I can only wish 50,000 enemies of our Great Mother Earth would receive their comeuppance from our Great Mother Earth. I'd love to see immediate karma in action now, instead of next lifetimes.

I wonder how Pat Robertson is going to spin this one LOL!! God doesnt want Romney/Ryan so hes showing his dislike for what republicans are doing. Ok that was from me, but usually when theres a disaster somewhere Pat R. says its due to sin. Repubs are pros at that!

Poor old crazy Pat is just too easy a target. But in answer to your question, it depends. If Tampa escapes the worst, Rev. Robertson will say it's a sign of God's approval of the Republicans--or maybe he'll take personal credit fr turning it away, as he did with Hurricane Gloria in 1985.

They (repugs)will find a way to blame Obama and his administration and all their regulations for the cancellation if it happens. I can hear em now.

Don't all it off, let the GOP suffer the consequences of their anti environmental policies.

At the very least, allow "god's will" to prevail. Then give praise for the "terrific job Brownie is doing." Then Pat Robertson can force the storm to turn by his intense god-fearing will. Awesome TV by any measure, which is all that counts.

I'd say if a tropical storm or hurricane wash the Republicans out to sea, it's just Mother Nature's self-defense.

This storm was undoubtedly conjured up by our Black Muslim President, using his background of Sharia Law and Voodoo to plot the overthrow of our government. I call upon all God-fearing white Anglo-Americans to fall to their knees and pray to God, in this hour of our need, to help us overcome the evil spells being cast by Obama's Kenyan black magic.

I hope speedboy, this was sarcasm, LOL.

No, do cancel it!!!! I live here and those a**holes will only get in the way of honest residents who try to evacuate. And, if Mayor Buckhorn cancels it, they will blame the Democrats and Obama; it doesn't matter that weather is an act of God.

All great comments, but get serious. God would never doing anything to disrupt a meeting of his self proclaimed chosen people. Or would she?

There is a huge hurricane headed for Florida- They might even have to cancel the Republican convention. God is punishing them for being such ruthless liars. These increasing hurricanes are due to global warming. The ocean is heating up and more moisture is held in the atmosphere and this is what causes bigger more powerful storms. The rich want Ryan and Romney and this is why they and the corporations are throwing millions at them as they are trying to also steal the election.
But what the rich don't get is that these extreme GOP wack jobs are for no regulation for industry or for anything. They just want our tax dollars as they outsource more jobs and give more and more to the top.In fact they want to do away with the EPA and all protective agencies all together as they go full steam ahead with burning coal and fossil fuels that will essentially destroy our ability to survive on the planet. The greedy rich and corporations are shooting themselves in the foot for short term greed. Stupid is as stupid does. I wonder which will kill us sooner. Global Warming or more Fukushimas?

If they were "True God-fearing" Rethugs, they'd be building an arc, which would hopefully fetch 'em up on the shores of Cuba, where they'd be forced "By the Forces of God" (mother earth), to witness universal healthcare, well-organized public disaster-readin ess, the opposite point of view from their hate-steeped right-wing Cubans in Florida, especially Miami, on the childishness and ineffectiveness of their decades-long embargo -and some good live music.

Oh come on now. We have to feel sorry for these corporate welfare people. Those coming in their boats or yachts might get them scratched or sunk. If they get washed to Mexico, Mexico might declare war saying it's a Corporate American plot to make it the 51st state. Now getting washed to Cuba that might be worth it. LOL(written with tongue in cheek) Me I'd say go on have it and feed them the deformed gulf sea food with a BP oil dip.
