Rich writes: "'Everything is copy,' Nora Ephron learned from her mother. She kept one thing to herself, though - and left many of us wondering why."

Comments

We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.

General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.

Remember that making the world better begins with responsible action.

That's a really touching tribute to your friend, Mr. Rich. I've loved Nora Ephron's work like millions for many years and the several times I've seen her on TV or heard her on the radio, she stood out as an interesting person. I am very sorry for your loss and ours.

Reminds me of some wealthy(well compared to me)relatives that are secretive. The McNally's were like GOD's to my MOM!Joe McNally married my Mom's sister:Margie. Margie wanted"high society"for her life, for her kids. We Todishs',poor relations, only got to see"The Mcnally's"rarel y, like at my Aunt Eileen's wedding. My parents would always say that we always got "The Bum's Rush." The McNallys (Joe SR. a salesman for Republic Steele) lived in "uppity up" land in Shaker Heights,Ohio(we ll in the 60's it was "the best",near Republic Steel headquarters, anyway.) Before then, The McNally's lived on Tuxedo Road in Montclair NJ,which, even like the street name, implies HIGH society! What's similar to Nora Ephron most of all,is how SECRETIVE they were, still are. Aunt Margie became a recluse, well according to her kids, at least, I guess I'll never know the truth. My cousins kept secrets, even their existences, from me,from most of the Todish family. Even my Mom, Margie's sister, had few meet ups alone with her sister. Those meet ups were ALWAYS on Margies' terms, my mom would have to be granted an as if "appearance" with the QUEEN, Queen Margie! Guess I could write books about my "family"! But the Mc Nally's especially famous sport's photographer Joe Mc Nally Jr., my cousin, would probably use their considerable social, money resources to prevent it from being published. This might not even be able to be published! Joe Jr, "says" he never met me! Tho I have pix proving otherwise!RIP NORA!

I love Nora's work. She made me laugh, cry...touched every emotion..."she was a diamond in the rough."
