Excerpt: "This may not be a traditional police state (yet), but it is an increasingly militarized policed state in which the blue coats, armed to the teeth, act with remarkable impunity - and all in the name of our safety from a bunch of doofuses or unhinged individuals that its 'informants' often seem to fund, put through basic terror courses, and encourage in every way until they are arrested as 'terrorists.' This is essentially a scam on the basis of which rights are regularly abridged or tossed out the window."

Occupy Wall Street: Take the Bull by the Horns

Comments

We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.

General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.

Remember that making the world better begins with responsible action.

We only have the rights, the corporations allow our government to let us have.

We are corporate owned and operated...our politicians are bought by the big boys. Anyone saying anything, doing anything, or eluding to anything that doesnt line up with corporate big money line is eliminated, stifled, and taken down. We have to follow the letter of the law, they do not. They steal our money under the guise of TARP and corporate welfare, we are just supposed to let them. We pay our taxes to the corporate Lords (not directly but its what it boils down to). I know this sounds a little nutty but its the truth. If you peel all the political crap off this is basically what it is.

Its sick, self serving, and greedy...this is what corporations do, turn a profit at all cost, people be damned. I really cant imagine what this country is going to be like in 10 years if things dont change. Its amazing when things happen slowly how people just adapt and accept things. Thats how this all happened...very slowly.

Van Buren's blurb deserves only one comment. It is the dumbest set of words I've read in a long time.

I know you conservatives don't actually believe in the Bill of Rights, so your comment is not surprising.

I read recently that the corporations have and fight to have no laws(regulation s) to GOVERN them, while at the same time, they work with great speed and diligence to take every freedom the 99% are guranteed by the Constitutuion.

It is becoming apparent that we have no rights , on a day to day bases if the Rich say, No.

This is a fair definition of FASCISM.

When guys like "Joeconserve" start goose-stepping around, then we will have evolved into a completely NAZI state -- which is clearly coming soon.

I am sure that in the future, OWS protestors will be shipped off to Camp Reagan.

In addition to Scott Walker, Bloomberg should be taken down through what is left of our civil rights.

SO WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO? What did Martin Luther King do? What did Ghandi do? Will we end up like Russia or China an oppressive mafia style nation with huddled poor masses scratching to survive except this time there will be two doors one for the rich and one for the poor. Will we all sit at the back of the bus?

Vardoz- "Will we all sit at the back of the bus?" We will be lucky to have buses! Only a revolution in consciousness will really change things. Of course Mother Nature, our poor abused planet, may take a hand in things as well! Such interesting times.
