Excerpt: "Thirty-one states presently have laws in place that will require all voters to show ID at the polls this November. That number could rise; a total of thirty-three states have passed voter ID laws." See what your state requires.

The National Conference of State Legislatures has put up a state by state map allowing voters to learn what kind of ID they will be required to have to vote in November. (photo: National Conference of State Legislatures)

Comments

We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.

General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.

Remember that making the world better begins with responsible action.

People in Pennsylania with intact morals are furious at the REPUBLICAN judge who decided the PA strict boter ID law (itself the worst kind of voter fraud) is valid! I attended the state Supreme Court hearing that passed it back to the lower court--BUT WITHOUT ANY DELAYING IMPLEMENTATION. The PA Voter ID Coalition are working to get as many notified and ID'd as possible, but thousands, we fear, will be turned away. The law is strictly political chicanery. Both sides stipulated that they know of no walk-in voter fraud in this state, or in any other. Statistics corroborate that it is so minimal it is almost nonexistent.

The law is meant to stop potential non-Republican voters from voting, and as most of you probably know, the Repub speaker of the House in Harrisburg crowed to a fund raising crowd that this law will win PA for Mitt Romney! How obvious can a fascist coup get?
