We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. Oh, but everything is just fine. Go shopping. Eat all the shrimp you want, and all the oysters, go swimming, suck in the fumes. Forget everything. Isn't that the way it works? We don't need to worry about the folks who live down there any more than the folks in New York City were worried about when they were told all was safe and were sucking in all manner of debris.

We are all fine. I am ignoring the immoral stuff on the planet because I've got to be at the Red Lobster in about an hour. EAT UP.

And how much of the medical costs for these diagnoses and treatments -- if possible! -- is BP paying for??? They're out campaigning for the"freedom" to inflict more of the same.

Don't worry -- These people can get a "voucher" to BUY insurance! And rather than have the government "declare" this an emergency (like Katrina victims)-- they can give BP a tax refund (even if they paid no taxes) and also a subsidy check for drilling and killing.

Just vote Dem in 2012 - no matter if you like the Dem condidate or not -- if the GOP has a majority we will lose ALL.

If the Dems get a majority in both houses -- perhaps they can enforce the laws against the stupremes who voted on political lines in 2010 to give corporations first amendment rights -- so we now have "the best govt money can buy"

Of course -- if you're rich -- vote R and hope they include you in their privileged class while the rest of us grovel for bread.

It was remarkable how the spill kept gushing millions of barrels of oil and was at the top of the news, then--poof!--su ddenly went away.

Now the aftermath is being ignored, just like the health nightmares suffered by 9/11 workers.

Don't kid yourself. Corporations, bankers, ultra wealthy elite donate equally to both parties, so no matter what the outcome of an election, they own 'em all.

It's NO surprise that the greedy executives at BP have not "made it right," for the people of the Gulf Coast. I mean they have other waterways to exploit and pollute and profits to make. And... it's no surprise that Obama's "change we can believe in," has fallen far short on this issue . But then Obama too, is very busy raising re-election monies and exterminating terrorists.
