Comments

We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.

General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.

Remember that making the world better begins with responsible action.

Great set of questions. I hope we get some answers.

It takes courage to have EPA employee Kaufman ask these questions. The management levels of US EPA are still probably loaded with Cheney/Bush corporatists who can help the polluters and spin a great story for the corporate news. 75% of the oil is gone already? No way.

VERY unfortunately the Obama admin has almost proclaimed a "mission accomplished" attitude about the oil spill BUT... they need to back off and consider how the gulf people still feel and state that we still have much to do before this horrendous problem has been put to rest. Obama has come up VERY short sighted on this one I believe... maybe a good time for another trip down to the coast!
