We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.
General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.
Remember that making the world better begins with responsible action.

The reason you don't hear Congresspersons calling for shooting people at the border is that it would be illegal and assinine in the extreme. So you get terrific credit for being so unique.
Can't the media just agree to keep numbskulls like this guy off the air?
The poor and harmless immigrants by and large are not crossing as much as before. The ones who now are crossing are the ones delivering drugs, and those boys know how to use weapons. After all, many of them have had training as police or military prior to being recruited by the narcos. And that training was financed by US antinarcotics aid and, in many cases, provided by Israeli security agents working as trainers for the police. It's the muhjadeen situation all over again where we equip and train the people who later fight against us.
And Joe, shooting at Mexico is pretty much provoking a war with a friendly country...

The domestic terrorist that opened fire recently & murdered the Sikhs while they were worshiping, thinking with his pea brain that they were Muslim, was at least in part inspired by the bigoted & hateful remarks made by Bachman about the Muslim threat in America. Just like Palins rifle crosshairs were aimed at Gabby Giffords (Democrat) who was shot by another domestic terrorist.
The Anti-American radical Right Insurgency is a very real & dangerous threat to our country. They are extremists willing to overturn any law or statute to suit their political agenda. Their agenda being able to pick up where G W Bush left off with his great American giveaway to the wealthiest of the wealthy. This is war folks, this is for real. I refuse to sit idly by while these radicals attempt to overthrow my country. We, the Democratic Liberal base are all that stands in the way of this party that will fundamentally alter the United States in ways to hideous to imagine.
National borders are not intended to be blockades. The best part about the EU was the opening of borders between nations. If all nations had full employment policies, then there would not be lots of people seeking work. The US could reduce its standard work week to 30 hours and in that way create a lot more jobs. So could Mexico.
Joe likes to be in the news. And he's good at it. Probably not very good at plumbing.
