The lesser told story is of the NSA analysts who tried futilly to get NSA management to allow them to put out a series of reports warning that certain Muslims within the country were apparently taking flying lessons around the country, but never landing lessons as you would expect them to continue, plus other tell-tale facts. Instead, NSA analysts were threatened and even fired for attempting to do their jobs. One analyst who was a super polyglot (he spoke 14 different languages and dialects) kept attempting to defend his proof. Security sent him to Security Psychological services (quite different from the real psychological services offered at their med center). A Security
psychologist threatened him that if he did not shut up aboutvthe threat, that they would write him up as "paranoid and delusional", which is NSA's way of circumventing the "No Fear Act" which garantees that whistle blowers will not be frivolously fired in retaliation for doing the right thing. He did not relent, so they wrote up bogus reports to deny him his clearance based on a non-existent mental illness and fired him because you can't work there without a clearance. They did the same to Russell Tice, another NSA whistle blower who attempted to report an NSA employee's collusion with Communist China, but the employee's mother was a high-ranking manager so NSA looked the other way concerning the issue and viciously persecuted Mr. Tice, using the same fraudulent psychological attack.

AND...with the late afternoon demise of Bldg 7, ALL the records of many secret government entities including the CIA, turned to dust.

The thoroughly shameful ducking, dodging, and stalling by the Cheney/Bush castrated FERC, just furthered their goals as they did an estimated $40 billion to $45 billion damage to our economy.
"California had an installed generating capacity of 45GW. At the time of the blackouts, demand was 28GW." They totally fabricated blackouts in the winter, despite 38% idle capacity through phoney maintenance shutdowns (easily more than double the normal peak maintenance shutdowns).

They reacted stupidly, attacking Iraq as they had only wished they could, without at least a flimsy excuse, but to me, they were so focused on their other plans, that they cut every bit of infrastructure maintenance, research, and real security monitoring, that they were truly surprised. That despite many they refused to listen too, indeed actively censoring, who saw almost all of it coming.
