The rise in right-wing hate groups cannot be ignored. The arrests in Michigan are only the tip of the iceberg.

Does anyone wonder, as I do, how much federal and local governments are actually aiding and abetting citizen violence and "uprisings"? I'm not talking about Sarah Palin or Glenn Beck types, who are the obvious characters with bullhorn nonsense, but the subtle-to-radical comments that encourage emotions and rebellion coming from even Obama. The in-your-face, us-against-them attitude began under Reagan and came into full flower under George W. and the operatives who are experts at divide and conquer. Citizens are being played big time, and obviously, certain groups don't even know it.

Yea, but we've got extremists on both sides. Soon they'll all be carrying guns.

Our country is on a downward spiral not because of the wackos on the left or right, but because of a corrupt political system that allows politicians to accept bribes and then pass laws to benefit their contributor.

Bribes lead to spending which leads to taxes and deficits. No corporation could withstand an employee giving away assets for cash on the side, and no country can either. Only public funding of campaigns will fix it, and at $5 per taxpayer per year it'd be a bargain. If politicians are going to be beholden to their funders, those funders must be the taxpayers.

So clean it up at the top, then we can fix it in the middle. We must get ALL congressmen to co-sign the bill at FairElectionsNo w.org . Without that, nothing will happen. Throw in the towel.

Here in the USA the dire economic situation and current political and social realities lived by an increasing number of white Americans who have fallen from their middle class status, and of course add in also some traditionally for generations poorer whites and even a surprising number of wealthy white people, has led the USA to go way beyond what those who supported Le Pen could accomplish in France. NOTE: White is a personal self classification here in the USA.

Does anyone see a revolution, or another "Cival War" on the horizon here? Leader of the Free World, in name, only. Certainly not in deed.

I certainly see signs of revolution in the making but hope that the citizenry can avoid the notion that there would or could be only two sides. We need to get beyond over simplification and falling for "either/or thinking". This is so complex in fact. We have racial conflict, economic conflict vis a vis class warfare by the elites against the rest of us, culture wars going on, religious conflict, et al.
I guess I'm just having a hard time finding any sound footing these days for the belief that government is supposed to serve and protect the best interests of everyone, that the common good is the highest good, that sound economy should bring prosperity to everyone that participates in it, that the will of the people should be slavishly and honestly ascertained and responded to. Who really fights for this?

I have for two years, been saying that we were going to have a war in this country. A war where the bible thumping, chest beating, gun toting, ugly sign carrying ignorant who are angry and listen not to rational people but the ones who stir them to hate are apt to erupt. It wasn't this bad at the beginning but you can see it coming. I don't know that this would be called a revolution, but just a plain killing war bought by the ones who are misinformed, ill informed or un-informed. I see no way to stop it now. These militia groups have grown by 244% since Obama's election. And the Party of Tea is scary.

The first time real right wing whackos openly do violence, they will be arrested or killed. Anyone who thinks a few paramilitary nuts could withstand real soldiers for more than a few minutes, or maybe an hour, is naive. Once one of these groups gets shot to pieces, then 95% of the remaining whackos, will retreat back to their squalid holes.

Much as I love ya', Wordslinger, I'm afraid it isn't gonna happen. You saw what happened at the unfortunate show-downs at Ruby Ridge and in Waco. The more we shoot 'em up, the more likely they are to become martyrs to their causes. They don't necessarily have to believe in the same thing, as long as it is anti-government, they are symbols for this crowd.Remember the guy who bombed all the Planned Parenthood centers on the Southeastern coast? He was taken to safe houses and squirreled away by others for years...he was a hero. Even Repubs feel the wrath at times, just ask James Brady. I do not condone this behavior, please understand, I'm just trying to tell you that unfortunately there is never a shortage of wingnuts or idiots willing to follow them mindlessly.
