We are concerned about a recent drift towards vitriol in the RSN Reader comments section. There is a fine line between moderation and censorship. No one likes a harsh or confrontational forum atmosphere. At the same time everyone wants to be able to express themselves freely. We'll start by encouraging good judgment. If that doesn't work we'll have to ramp up the moderation.

General guidelines: Avoid personal attacks on other forum members; Avoid remarks that are ethnically derogatory; Do not advocate violence, or any illegal activity.

This is a well thought out plan mainly by Bush Sr./ Chaney/Rice/ among others that started with the urging for Saddam to invade Kuwait, and the Saudi's to jump in with their share of the oil. It backfired, but picked up speed when Bush Jr. came into play.Jr. tried to get Bin Laden to cooperate, and when he wouldn't, we had our Reichstag, and the rest is history up to now, with Obama playing the Bush game, and inticing the Saudi's again this time for Iran's oil. To pacify Israel, keep buying their help. When all is said and done, and the US acquires the Empire,-rather it's GOP or Koch's Tea Party, how long before Israel and Saudi Arabia is on the list to be overthrown.
A bit far fetch perhaps but seemingly possible. What do others think???

Hey we got to sell our war equipment to somebody, that's the only thing keeping this economy going. War is extremely profitable and the guys who really run this country who are behind the scenes don't really care what happens as long as they get their money/power to continue world dominance. We are such incredible shnooks! us americans with our high falutin ideals of freedom and independence! Hah! What a lotta crap we've been fed! Obama's just a front man, just like 'shrub', whether by choice or coercion. It's such a sham! and a shame and I'm ashamed and greatly saddened.

I think you're being logical maddy. Saudi Arabia is under threat by whom? Is Iran a threat to Arabia? What would make Iran a threat to Arabia? Why build Arabia up like this? Are we supplying an allie in anticipation of an invasion on Iran? I've got lot's have concerns about this. I mean, besides profiting the military/indust rial/congressio nal/corporate complex, what does a well armed country like Arabia need so much weaponry for? Just what is this in anticipation of?

I'd sure like some answers.

We're supplying weapons for our own downfall. It can't be any other way. We're sending weapons of mass destruction to the Middle East . . . AGAIN? Stop the World. I want to get off.

Go to YouTube Eve Of Destruction," a song by Barry McGuire. He was a US Marine during the Vietnam War who, upon his return home, wrote one of the most poignant folk protest anthems in the history of warfare.

They ask, "Why do our president and Congress allow this to happen, "over and over and over again?" Do you recall the cartoon in the New York Times, and other newspapers, of a dead black rabbit out in front of a shooting window in a target practice room? It was a message to Obama not to interfere with the war-machine's ongoing plans.

In my mid-60's now,I clearly remember in October, 1963 when an Army friend of mine sent me a copy of "Stars and Striples," military news magazine. It said "Kennedy orders military out of Vietnam by End of '65."

One and a half months later, Gen. Edward Lansdale, and the CIA, had boots on the ground in Dealey Plaza, Dallas, Texas.

very president afterward has bowed to the military-indust rial complex."

That is about the only thing the US can export along with wars, intervention, hate, racism, covert activities and provide our young sons and daughter as "collateral" in regards to sweat, blood and tears.

Our nation's leaders should be condemned for it, and the generals punished along with the warmongering greedy corporations and those frigging republicans!
