So an example of the marvelously, politically braindead tries a rebuttle. Nice try, "stud." Your whining only, further, proves my previous input. Liberal this, liberal that. Sounds like a raving cliche. I know, you're alright, the whole world's all wrong. A typical delusion among the Right. Are you that politically primitive? Do you even know what a liberal is without having to rely on your "leaders" verbally masterbating you? It shows. Abuses, eh? In recent history the Repubs have fully, and without conscience, committed themselves to committing voting fraud. (Yeah, I know, your denial has had a warping effect.) I should thank you for admitting that many readers here criticize Obama. It's a shame you may not understand why. Too flippant? I don't give a flying frig if you were. I recognize the old, monotone semi-psycho babble in your posts; generally typical among the Right. Which makes it so WRONG. Never mind about amoebas. You've already proven that I can go over your head. Of course, your denial will get in the way of understanding this. This denial is quite a "terminal disease" among the Right. Hopefully you can sonehow get over it, and thus your political defects.

Manufacturers of voting machines can make them as secure as ATM machines OR SLOT MACHINES IN VEGAS, but don't. Computerized voting and election tampering have stolen our democracy. And with nary a peep from the voters. Voting machine companies (instead of government employees!) now count our votes on computerized and thus hackable equipment! Google "Chuck Hagel and election fraud" and learn about the Senator from Nebraska who is suspected as having stolen two elections! He was affiliated with a voting machine company (ES&S) that sold their voting machines to most of Nebraska. The next election, the “virtually unknown” Chuck Hagel (voting machine exec) won a "stunning upset." Then won re-election next election. He was the first Republican to win that seat in Nebraska in 24 years! Check it out. Worse than that, he is now very chummy with Barack Obama, who was said at one time to be considering him for his cabinet. Somehow we have to break through the media wall that keeps ignoring this vital issue. Educate yourselves! Go to blackboxvoting. org and read!

A slight correction from Shawn M. O'Donnell, Drucilla Badurina in their book, Rebuilding the Democratic Party from the Grassroots: The Ultimate Guidebook ... Quote: “Diebold is the second largest. Its CEO, Wally O’Dell, a major Bush campaign organizer and donor, is best known for writing a letter to Ohio Republican promising to “deliver the vote” for George W. Bush. Did he “deliver” Ohio? Election 2004 vote tabulations give him the right to claim that he did, possibly with the help of Ohio Republican Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell, the Katherine Harris of 2004. (Harris was Florida’s Republican Secretary of State in 2000, and like Blackwell in Ohio, head of Bush’s state campaign in Florida). “ES&S and Diebold control almost 80 percent of the electronic voting machine tabulation “market.” “Triad Governmental Systems, Inc. Wrote the program that tabulated the punch card ballots in 41 counties in the disputed Ohio vote count. The founder of this family run company is a generous supporter of the Republican Party and the Bush campaign. UNQUOTE

David you are so marvelously clueless. Let me explain my post. 1. If you all are so aware of the evils of the election process why don't you tell someone who can do something about it? Holder may be a joke but he's all we've got at the moment. These postings sure sound like there is a ton of proof among the people posting. 2. Every four years the liberals go off on election fixing & whatever. Seriously, wouldn't it make sense to do something BETWEEN elections to PREVENT these supposed abuses from happening rather than waiting until there is only two months to go? Yes, there are people here who criticize Obama. With so few words to work with I have to address the overall tenor of the board which is supportive of the article. Was I too flippant? Perhaps. Don't concern yourself about going over my head or that of anyone else. Judging from your posts you would be severely challenged to go over the head of an amoeba.

Fair elections aren't rocket science. I understand they do them in Canada with pencil, paper, and 1 poll worker for every 300 to 500 voters. An accurate count is much more important than quick results. The electronic voting machines are a hypertechnologi cal scam. I was at a hearing several years back in Sacramento sponsored by then Secretary of State (for California) Bruce McPherson, appointed by Republican Gov. Schwartzenegger , on certifying the Diebold machines for use in California. I and dozens of other citizens, including some experts in the field, testified that we didn't want them. The hearing went on for about 6 hours and only two or three speakers favored their use against dozens opposed. My recollection is that the commission found in their favor. Fortunately, in the subsequent election McPherson was defeated by anti-voting machine Democrat Debra Bowen. I've never seen an electronic voting machine at the polls without wanting to take a crowbar and smash the cursed thing.

Your rant sounds all too familiar. Yeah, Comedy Central, everytime. The Right just can't cure their dillusions and regression. You're yet again proof. Your rant not only has that traditional Right arrogance to it but it's also not surprisingly devoid of key aspects of reality. And again I see something more typical: An attempt to be a smartass but with the result of you being just a plain ass; or a flaming ass. So are you used to hack pieces from the Right? They're popular among those of your childish bent, and there's many, "children" and hack pieces alike. AND it's a shame I have to point out, because of your reactionary anti-intelletua lism, that there are readers here who criticize Obama, i.e., they're not apologists. I'm one, where I've been strongly critical of Obama's "compromising," i.e., surrendering to the Repub party of no. So don't assume people here are like Right-wing worshippers as yourself, blindly cheering a parasite like Romney, etc. just because he/they verbally jerk you off to satisfy your denial based on antiquated illusions of granduer. Sorry if I'm being too over your head, if I am. You may think, e.g., liberals are wussies (And I'm not one.), but it's tragic you can't see that conservatives, especially necons, have verged closer to a bourgois version of fascism.
If Ohio elected a GOP/TP gov, senate, house, police chief, dog catcher - why do they need to worry that those who vote will now vote Democratic? I think their state elections have been rigged for years (and so have a number of other states) - so where is Mr. DOJ? If a state government CAN rig elections (as is obvious in Ohio's history:2000 + 2004) - then it is time for Ohio-ians to revolt. So, if you live in OHIO and your district has been through any kind of voter suppression - I suggest you ask the nation to join you in your public demand for your "right to vote" and to have the same rules apply to your district as apply to other (GOP/TP) districts. Maybe CNN will find a newsperson to film your demonstration - requesting your constitutional rights for equality in all respects - and the right to vote is one of the TOP 10 rights a US Citizen has.

It sounds obviously necessary. Further, how about international observers? I think it's a case of getting in the few faces of those who are trying to prevent people from voting, through intimidation and otherwise. But I'm doubting Carter will make such a necesary move.
Instead of giving a fairly empty speach at last night's convention Jimmy Carter should have annnounced that he was organizing a huge election monitoring campaign for the upcoming US election and asked for a volunteer army to help monitor every poll in a every problemmatic district. At this point we are surely no better than any "banana republic" (no offense to those republics, most of which these days have far cleaner elections and far more progressive governments than we do).

This group who does not want to pay taxes. This group who wants to decide who votes and who doesn't. This group who wants to exercise financial control via Wall Street and the Federal Reserve which impacts not only the economy of America, but the entire world. This group who controls over 90% of what you see, hear, and read is in reality less than 0.05% of the population and they are dictating the direction the remaining 440 million move in? Is there something I do not understand about democracy? Is there something I am missing?

Yep - Vote Death by Diebold. The software consultant who was wanting to testify re. his being hired in Florida in 2000 to 'fix', via software, the vote was disappointed with no investigation coming from the HOPE and CHANGE pres. named Obama. Recall a third party candidate, a national forest creator, who got elected about a century ago? Of course, with the 1%ers Death by Diebold machines, electing any third party candidate would indicate a major miracle (or, one more scam non-election).
I'm still amazed how the Repubs/Right/Ne ocons/Cons are simply getting away with this considering it's criminality, i.e., violating one's right to vote because of certain "disqualificati ons." But their politically disabled supporters did vote them in.(or DID they? It is reasonable to ponder.) It's gotten to the point where these "morally righteous" hypocrites may just as well try to impose Jim Crow again; but they would then of course be taken out of power one way or another. They still play thier little "game" of "subtle imposition." Somehow, someway, the politcal shit has got to hit the fan, and their faces.
Indeed there should be FEDERAL monitoring of polling in Ohio. It is obvious that all the public officials are dishonest and in the pay of scum like the Koches. There should have been a federal investigation of the fraud in the past two elections and some of these people jailed, but I guess when you win you forgive and forget. THAT is the gravest offense committed by this administration. Without the voter fraud that let Bush and his partners in crime into the White House, look how many of our best and bravest would still be living! Letting them get away with their manifold wickedness is an insult to military families and in itself a crime against the American people.Enough!
If you go to any other developed western democracy, the voting/ elections process is completely centralized, uni form and across-the-boar d no matter what province, district, state or department you're in. This whole idea of 'states rights' interpretation of voting laws is absolutely primitive and shameful. They are obviously unfit to be making these determinations.

For "democracy" until the vote seems to be going against them. Right now it's majorly a Republican thing. Too bad we as a country also have an extensive record of collusion in suppressing democratic elections in Vietnam after WWII, Central and South America, Iran, and elsewhere. We humans are a pretty lousy species (not that I mean to imply that the Republicans aren't worse and that some of us aren't decent)>

CNN is now discussing what Barack must do to win in November. Get more votes obviously. Not so obviously, the votes must be counted honestly. I believe that a dishonest count in Ohio stole our last close election in 2004. How to prevent that from happening again in another close election? I'm not sure, but I hope and pray that the Obama campaign will do everything possible to prevent a stolen election for Mitt. All the laws against voter fraud are in aid of preventing legitimate voters from voting. Nothing in these GOP-sponsored laws to prevent cheating after the ballots are cast.

What you need in the US are monitors for the up and coming elections, just as there are in somewhat 3rd world countries,to monitor if the elections were fair.
