Professor K strikes again! And rest assured his lapdogs will eat it up. Oh, Christie is a phony all right, but what the hell, he's a politician for God's sake. Phoniness is in the job description. What is just as phony is Krugman's sudden concern about deficits. He's quick to point out that NJ deficits continue, yet blithely declares in column after column that the Feds need to put the national budget in deeper deficit with "massive" spending. When a governor "defers" contributions, he is "borrowing from the future" but when the US government does it, well, that's "good" borrowing from the future. And when Christie diverts money from the Transportation Fund, that's naughty, the raiding of the Social Security "Trust Fund" by the DC pols? No problemo. Current exponential increases in our national debt, an economy that cannot grow enough to cover the interest due on our debt and an estimated 200 trillion of unfunded welfare state liabilities mean little to Krugman. As we careen toward default, he is trapped in a catch 22 and is blinded by his own ideology. Reality check: Neither professor K, his acolytes nor the Dems or Pubs have a plan to get us out of the dilemma we are in. Having no plan, they will play "kick the can" down the road until their "loony lefty" and the "righty nutcases" are bankrupted.

I remember a movie in which all the "public" were cheering the candidate regardless of what he was saying and whatever someone in the crowd shouted. So when by a close person in the crowd "what are they cheering for?" The answer was" They'll cheer for anything, Wait, I'll show you: "Fish for Sale" and the crowd went wild. Someone at Tampa should do the same to show how stupid these tea party idiots and other gop blind followers will do to bow down to Mitt ("tom") and Jerry!

Keep eating their poison. So keep making them rich and keeping us out of jobs. Fracking is supposed to help things not go up but that was the Promise of Nuclear Power...no rise in costs. I see the same with everyone needing Casinos. Those were supposed to pay our property taxes I am waiting three years and will be waiting a lot longer. You all keep buying into the lies and supporting Imports.... GOP are not the only ones who need to look in the Mirror

Everyone expects the middle and poor to buck up since we always have. The intelligence of who is going to buck up now with no jobs will leave Americans homeless and dinner free. 1% will demand more money in Collection plates from those who can ill afford it. Time Church starts doing its own recognition of their Members in Crime. Churches want money, Temples etc well guess they will have to start doing there services in tents because the pot ain't gonna make it around the parish anymore. I refuse to buy God, let them all starve like the world is, let them live in boxes, then perhaps they will start recognizing God, Jesus, Allah...

When considering Roosevelt alone. Man who adored killing animals ended wanting to Preserve Tens of Thousands for Land. Never once did he do so with the intent of killing Wolves, or Buffalo. I would personally like to see him take his stick to this Un environmental, animal hating hypocrites. I would love to see them all come and beat the crap out of these spoiled Bullies for their intent to destroy the USA financially. But that is our job, and writing these memos ain;t gonna get it done. Take the time you spend on these blogs and go organize in your area, among family and friends. There is an excellent information on the AFL-CIO Blog today about Medicare and Social Security including ideas, something those in charge have little of no matter which party. This weekend is Labor Day, while you are drinking and eating...perhap s start planning on how to take back USA in a Peaceful, Intelligent Way. Enjoy the Weeknd but remember there would be No Holidays recognized without Labor....we are losing jobs daily.

Another few points about Taft. He advocated civil service reform, trust busting and strengthening the Interstate Commerce Commission. He also oversaw passage of the Sixteenth Amendment of the Constitution (fed. income tax) as well as proposing a 2% corporate tax. He was also very active in the world peace movement. Byt the way, Utah was one of three states that rejected the Sixteenth Amendment. Apropos, heh? So all in all, Taft would have been hated by today's Republican Party and would certainly get dressed down by Christie.

The fate of the gasoline tax is indicative of how regressive the USA has become. In constant dollars, that tax used to be much higher in the past, when people were driving gas-guzzlers. What seems to have changed is that people used to believe in sacrificing much more for the common good. And the tax used to be high, just to pay for roads. Now we have a much better reason to bring up the tax: Arctic sea ice is now at its lowest ever, this side of Jurassic park. Starting today. http://patriceayme.wordpress.com/

Ah, the vaunted Republican crutch stating that churches will take up the slack. Well guess what folks, that betrays the Constitutional separation of church and state. Of course, this is the much-sought-aft er effect of cutting public safety nets and replacing them with religious safety nets. "Hey, Joe. How about a few Bible versus along with your gruel?"
"Now, state governors don’t actually have much impact on short-run economic performance, so the skidding New Jersey economy isn’t really Mr. Christie’s fault." I actually beg to differ. Governors help determine state budget priorities, and when a governor decides to lay off teachers, while keeping a Drug War and Gulag state funding of their prisons at full speed, they are making a choice. And one that ultimately harms their state.

There is no 'free lunch', and there is no 'free market'! Every society has to pay for the so-called 'free' market one way or another! Estimates of Food Stamps cuts alone in the proposed Paul Ryan budget might cost every individual church, synagogue, and mosque in America an average of $50,000 a year to replace lost nutrition for kids in poverty. Whatever the real amount the private charity load will increase dramatically. Almost all the churches lack the administrative economies of scale to run such programs efficiently. So the actual nation-wide cost, private and public, might double. And this is just an example of what might happen with a small to medium size budget cut. And if the churches don't pick up the slack even larger social costs will show up somewhere else. And that's the price we, the 99%, will pay for the 'free' market!

Style(in the form of bragging about falsehoods)over substance is the Republican way. And Christie and Ryan lead the pack. The Republican method is so transparent regarding its lack of sincerity that it should be hilarious-excep t many prospective voters buy into it. They play the populace for fools-because many can be "fooled again." In this Republican method of "getting out the vote"-facts take a back seat to charismatic leaders who really know how to "talk the talk"-which is always nothing more than the old talking points of....less taxes, less regulation, more freedom, and hence-prossperi ty for all...blah...bl ah...blah.
