yeh...I've been to a number of local OWS functions and no one brings up our lost to electronic manipulation voting issues. Nor has the national utterances been on that. Can't have a fair vote count, may as well dump the entire democratic process...

I have to agree with Charles that some statement of principles of some kind would be a good idea. Although there is concern that such a thing would make the movement too partisan, there are least some things that the Occupy movement can agreed on, and that should be stated. E.g. a tax structure where everyone pays their fair share. I would think that the movement could come up with 4 or 5 ideas that most could agree to, and that would give the movement some definitive thrust that it needs now.

yeh...sigh, that shot at OWS is soooo weak. It might have had a bit more oomph had you noted as did lobdillj and fightback that maybe, just maybe all those months of in your face rukus right ding dang there on Wall Street may have aroused this share holder ire...I call cheap shot.

(It is once again that time on the blog where I point out what a shame it was that the Occupy movement didn't have a "coherent set of principles" so that it might have a lasting effect on the way business is done in this country, in and out of politics.) WTF? Do you think the police violence and brutal treatment of the movement had anything to do with it? Say what you want but they could have had Jesus him self at the helm and they still would have gotten the crap kicked out of them. One step at a time! Stop your criticism of a movement that tried its best and got a lot of us thinking. What did you do for the movement?

Still the Era of Hurt Feelings for me. NO Too Big to Jail CEO from before Sept.18,'08, should remain in office, let alone not in prison. Pushing paper you know is "crap" is felony fraud. ILL GOTTEN GAINS should also be confiscated, not to mention taxed. Why are pension funds even in Citi? Because they know there'll be a bail-out when Shiti hits the fan again? Dodd-Frank may have been a beginning, or maybe a token cop-out, like Obamacare, but where's Eric Holder? Out raising $$ for Obama??

This is great news that the OWS message has reached stockholders and seems to have had an impact on the way they vote. It's apparent that investors need protection as well as workers. It should be considered that a 'coherent set of principles' voiced by the protestors could have had the opposite effect.

Mr. Pierce, You wrote: "(It is once again that time on the blog where I point out what a shame it was that the Occupy movement didn't have a 'coherent set of principles' so that it might have a lasting effect on the way business is done in this country, in and out of politics.)" Maybe this revolt of the mega-rich stockholders won't be a lasting effect, but it's sure as hell a real one that has far exceeded anything that any other progressive organization has accomplished. The right wing attack meisters love it when they can find an opponent with a "coherent set of principles". It gives them a point of attack to focus on and deride. They couldn't find one on the Occupy movement. That seems to have hurt them much more than it hurt Occupy.
